She was eight years old, teeth gone, and the apple of our eye! Bam! It hit me like a ton of bricks, " she is a junior and the year is almost half way over!" I can't believe that she will leave the nest soon! She turned 16 in September and where is my little girl. That seems like only yesterday! He father and I have such different hope for her life. He wish for her to stay close and always be his baby girl. He tries everyway in the world to keep her close and little and she is just iching for freedom. I want her to spread her wings and fly. To go where ever the Lord leads her and to make a difference in the lives of others. She doesn't know what she really wants to do yet but, is considering Women's Health. Her passion for others runs deep and the Lord is moving in her life. It is hard to stand back and let her become a lady but, we have prepared her to do well in life. God has always been first, and family second. Now it is up to her to make those decisions and find her way. I know that the next year and half will be challenging and rewarding at the same time. With all the struggles that teenagers bring and all the love that they have as well, our lives have been crazy here the last few weeks. She is such a good girl and not a typical teen at all. She just wants to know what to do with her life and she wants to know now! She doesn't give us trouble and works so hard at school and church. I am truely blessed! The Lord has been so good to me and he gave me a wonderful chance to share my life with such a precious gift in Emily!

I am working on finding a quilt pattern for her graduation present. I know you all are saying "It's a little early don't you think?'' but, if i don;t start it now I will not have it finished and quilted by her high school graduation. If any of you have suggestions for a pattern, bed size, and not too difficult please share. If fact, let's have a contest! I will use the winners pattern to make her graduation quilt and once I decide on the fabric I will send the winner a special gift from me. Let's share photo's of special quilts and ideas of what to do for this little darling for graduation. Here is alittle bit about her: (1) She is old fashion and traditional in a modern way, (2) Fashion is her thing, (3) Pink is her favorite color all shades, (4) she drives a little red vw new beetle, (5) country, farm, cooking, stray animals, glitter, glam, and a heart as big as the world. Timid, shy, humble, yet personal, nerdy, intelligent, and an avid reader describer her to a tee, (6) she plays guitar, is in FBLA, FCA, anti-Drug Clubs, 4H, Drama Club, and runs cross country, shows sheep, pigs, and chickens.

There is just a little bit about her. Ask me questions and let's see what we can come up with! I am open to anything and besides it will be fun. let the conversations begin!
I need a crochet pattern asap!I am in need of a crochet pattern for baby booties and a hat. A very easy pattern that will not take long and will be for beginners. I have looked the web over and have not found anything that is suitable. I am going to use this with a group of high school girls who will be make items for the NICU. A special thanks in advance to all those who send me patterns. If you have pictures of finished projects that would be great also as it is easier for most to see what they are making before they make it.Simply Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708134282544939100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1386144491513387061.post-92125697505895897482010-06-21T12:50:00.001-04:002010-06-21T13:07:46.777-04:00One in the Hand is better than two in the bush......

Or so the old saying goes. This is a picture of a baby bird my daughter found inthe yard. Ofcourse she wanted to keep it and I said...... What did you think I would say?..... "No!" It has all of its feathers and its Momma was tring to teach it to fly, until you picked it up. Go put it back!" Oh that child! What will I ever do when she leaves the nest? This summer has been so busy, learning to drive, competeing in competitions, misson trip, and vacation! ..take a breath... and school will start before I know it! I can't believe that summer is flying by and before I turn around I will have 16 year old junior in high school!
Well, I wanted to let you know that my friends over at Life on a Southern Farm are having a wonderful give a way! They are giving a way one of their beautiful hand made nesting boxes. (No it is not for this little bird!lol!) It is for all those chicken farmer's out there. They have them for every size flock out there both standard and bantum breeds as well! I sure hope I win! I have been loning for one of these nesting boxes for my five little hens for some time now. They deserve a proper place to lay eggs instead of sharing with those pesky old sheep who share their hay bale unwillingly with them. Man is it ever hard to find those eggs some days! Anyway, I am sure that if you stop by her blog you will find it is filled with quite the southern charm and youwill leave educated and return time and time again to see just what it going on in her neck of the woods!Simply Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708134282544939100noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1386144491513387061.post-62172784547703314472010-03-23T12:40:00.000-04:002010-03-23T12:40:58.715-04:002 Chronicles 7:142 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

So you might find this verse a bit harsh or stange for a blog. But, I have been doing a daily bible study called one-2-one. It is a study for new christians and although I have been saved by God's amazing grace since I was 12 years old, i have found much renewal in this study. My husband and I teach the youth at our church on wednesday nights and they are in high school or college. This study has opened my eyes to those things that are so important to a new christian and should not be forgotten by the gray heads as well.

For me personnally, this week has been about full submission and nothing less. Often times I think we forget that we are not the one's incontrol and when we try to be, we sin against our lordship, Jesus Christ. After all he didn't die for a certian selcet part of us it was for the whole kit and kaboodoole. I often think that I can do it all, and do it well. The Lord many times has had to remind me, in a not so sudtle way, " Hey, I am the one in charge here!" This concept is often hard for all of us to remember and for allof us to allow to happen in our individual lives. I am making it a point to do this each day. To just stop and reflect on the verse above. It says my people, who are called by my name = me , I am a child of the King and am so called his child. Therefore I must, humble myself = I am not in charge, seek his face = study to find God's will for my life and his hand in all that is around me throughout my day, and turn from my wicked ways. Now you maybe thinking "wicked ways", what have i done that is so wicked. I too was wondering the same thing when God showed me, yes he did. I am not doing what he would have me to do when I take control of things in my life, I should be letting him guide me in all things. Reading through the bible I understand how important it is to be a servant in all that I do, not just the areas that are fun for me to serve in, I must serve even when it is uncomfortable, hard, hot, cold, confusing, and awkward. Not just on sundays or wednesdays, not just at home or in front of my students but, all day everyday. So I hope that each of you find that place of service and the blessings that God has promised for those who are called by his name.

On a lighter note, I have included a photo of a fungi that one of my students took. We are having a hard time identifiying. If you have any idea what it is will you please leave me a comment. Thanks for your help and enjoy your day!
Goats that is! You see I had a gentleman and his son who came and bought all of my hair sheep ewes for an FFA project. While they were visiting with us he proceeded to tell me that if I got myself some small goats they would take care of the sage grass issues we have on the new property. It is just covered in sage!, which is not good for hay fields. As we have been planning to make this property work for us this was a natural and organic means of riding ourselfs of the sage. Much cheaper too! We would not need to spend as much money on gas and diesel and we will be feeding the goats at the same time. So thus began my search for some small goats. (I know your thinking just put the nubians out there Amy and let them work. But you see, they are my babies and so particular, and I just can't if i want to milk them.)
They are 3/4 pygmy and 1/4 nigerian dwarf. And then there is Helen , the black and white fancy goat. I am not sure what she is but she is a looker. Very striking. She has twins already as well.

This is Emily holdong twin one who looks just like his mother although you can't tell cause eventhough it is 60 degrees outside Emily is still wearing her furry winter hat. Don't ask because I do not know the method behind her madness. We also have two other girls who are bred and will be joining this gang, there names are silver, she is a nigerian and Naomi, who si an alpine/nigherian cross. They both are in solitary confinment as they are close to delivering and are as mean as you can get until their babies get her and then they nicen up quite abit. So lots of fun going on in the barn yard and on the new property.

No other babies yet! The winter is still here and so is the snow...

So it has been a whlie since you all have seen the babies and all the furry around the farm. We have been coverd in snow, and if not snow, then rain. CAN I JUST SAY "I HATE MUD!!!!!! Yes, my temper is getting flared over the weather but, we will weather the weather, what ever the weather, weather we like it or not. I must remember "Spring is coming, Spring Is Coming!"

Meanwhile in the middle of all the chaos I find peace in the barn. Here are just a few pictures that graps the moments of peace I find.

And, my have we grown over the winter. These are the yearling Suffolk and Hampshire sheep we kept from last year. They are all just turning one and have really bloomed here lately. Emily showed these girls and it looks like some of them might get to be shown this year as well as yearling ewes!

Everyone running around looking for me or a bite to eat. I will be selling a small starter flock of Suffolk/Hampshire sheep. This encludes a ram and three maybe four ewes. Would be a great start for someone looking to get into the sheep business to who just wants a clean up crew for the property. Hope you enjoyed your visit. Leave a comment or two if you did.

There had been talk in the area that he was going to sell it and someone wanted to put a subdivision in. We were mortified about a subdivision and would sell and move where we didn't have to deal with lots of people around us. So we asked and he and my husband drew up and agreement. We would make a payment each month to him and upon maturation of the terms set aside the deed would be ours. This had been the gentlemans inhartience and he was not comfortable letting it switch hands until the passing of his grandmother. She was allowing a cattle farmer to lease it and he would continue it until her passing. So we were not aloud to do anything with or on the property until then. So we watch and wait. Over the Christmas holiday the dear lady passed away. We were contacted by the gentlemen a week ago and so the papers are signed all we are waiting on is the closing with the bank and the deal is done. My husband is like a kid in a candy shop. Today we are going to walk the propery and see where we will begin the clean up. The boys said "the first thing we needed to do was put up a new fence," when asked why their reply was "we need to move our cows over there." Very practical I must say but, we have two cows and this is a 30 acer farm. My husband wants to clean the area where the pond is and clean the pond out first so that he can fish anytime he wants. It connects to out backyard and he will be there all of the time no matter what the temperature is. (The boys had not thought of that.) I want to see what part will be best suited for hay and pasture and then decide how we will set it up for rotational grazing. I will be able to run more sheep and this will be nice as I will not spend all summer with ewes running me over at the barn and less flies around the house. Needless to say we have our work cut out for us but that is fine as we are looking at this being a production for our retirement. I will take some pictures today and post them later.Off to get thehouse work done.Simply Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708134282544939100noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1386144491513387061.post-56581575652882914652010-01-15T12:48:00.001-05:002010-02-16T07:37:08.660-05:00Remembering When.....

Proverbs 22:6 (King James Version) : Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I ran across this picture this week as i was cleaning out the attic. I sat and just boo - whoed. I know crazy right? I really can't blieve that this little gitl has grown up into a beautiful 15 year old young lady. It seems like just yeaterday she was running through the barn yard catching chickes.( Oh yeah that was just yersterday!Lol!) Well, you know what I mean. I know that the Lord gives us things to enjoy about each stage of life, but i truely miss the years 3-8, I really do. That was the time I could solve most of lifes problems for her, not so many of them theses days. I realize the value of the vere abovemore and more each day when I see her make good choices and trusting that the Lord will lead her where he wants her. Through all the antics of being a 15 year old and living a Godly life I know that her day is filled with choices I never had to make. Eventhough I teach in the same school she attends it is not my place to intervine unless it is a major wrong. She has to live her life and learn to listen to that still small voice. I think God each day for the blessing he has given me with her.

I have for a long time been wanting to get back into raising chickens. (This summer had been the first summer since our fifteen year old was five that we have not had some sort of poultry in the barn yard.) After all , chickens are what got us started in the farming business when Emily arrived home from her great aunts house with a box of five little chicks. That was it she was hooked. Spending all of her waking hours totein' around a little hen. She loved those chickens so much. Soon five turned to us ordering her a surprise box of twenty five for easter. Never in a million years would one think that a little girl would fall asleep watching those chicks run back and forth from the water to the food trough and then to rest under the heat lamp. For days she set with the hatchery catalog looking at each picture of the chicks and tring to figure out what she had in that box. In a small little compostion book she would write down ehat she thought they were and what page they were on. by the time they were feathered out and in the barnyard she had most of them identified. Even talking to our extention agent and having him come to the house to help her identify the ones she did not know. Wow! I can't believe it has been almost 10 years ago, time sure has flown by. The summer she was in fourth grade we were at a flea market with my parents and low and behold what does this little brown eye girl wearing pigtails come carring back to my husband and I, you guessed it! Two little splashed colored silkie chicks. The cutiest little fluffy babies in the world! They melted my heart and hers. We raised them for quite sometime. Really up until she decided to get into showing sheep in depth. That was when the chicken yard was turned into a sheep pen and the poultry went out in the yard. This is the reason Wade made us get rid of something. When the chickens, ducks, and turkeys started pooping on the concrete he said :They are Gone!", and so it was. (A sad day I must say for the Haney women.)

Yesterday, a blessed yesterday! I recieved a late Christmas present per say. Two of the most precious little silkies I have ever seen! A hen and a rooster, just perfect for me! Straight off the Fraker Farm and raised by Paula herself, these little jems make me so happy! I got up this morning and headed to the barn only to be greeted by a hearty "Cock-a-doodle Do". Something I haven't heard in a long time.Simply Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708134282544939100noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1386144491513387061.post-56806273765822451232010-01-04T04:54:00.001-05:002010-01-04T05:13:08.756-05:00Good Morning All! So, it was 4:30 A.M.. Yes, in the morning of my first day back to work since christmas break!... What am I doing up?.. I should be sleeping?.. You see my 15 year old wok me up at 3:30 a.m. to tell me that she was scared and couldn't go back to sleep. So after an hour of trying to lay there with her and calm her back to sleep we are up watching Law and Order. I am blogging, as you can see. It is really hard to get hold of a computer around here. I have ment to get these pictures up since I took them a few days ago. As you can see, the barn yard is alive with babies! This picture is of the first two born. Look how much they have grown!
Here is another lamb born the day after the big ordeal. She is a cutie with that soeckled face and black muzzle. Very shy and quite. Her momma is a bit jumpy and I have to be super quite and calm when I am in her pen. She and her mother will probaly get to stay in the droppen for a few extra days just to have time with the extra TLC yo uget when you are there.
This is the tiny little girl barn the moring of the ordeal! She is the smallest lamb we have. I bet she didn't weigh 5 lbs. when she was born. Her mother is a big old girl and she still doesn't even look like she has even had a baby! You can't tell from the picture but she has the fattest little belly!
This is the last black face baby born, December 23,2009. He is a big boy! I call him cry baby. (Not his official name.) He crys and crys and crys when he gets lost from his momma. Every morning I am greeted with his loud voice until I get the grain in the pans. Once his momma settles into a feeding pan and he finds her, "Baa, Baa, Baa" is all I here. He is quite friendly though, following me around if she is not close by.

So, I hope you all enjoy the pictures. For those who follow Paula's Blog, The Fraker Farm, the black face sheep are the aunts to all of the black face babies. They have a cousin there who is also growing like a weed. Thanks Paula for all of your help here.
I truely love this dear old lady and miss the times I had as a child with her. She is just a joy even thou her mind is gone most of the time. The last few days have been filled with children running through the house, several trips to the barn, a whole day spent buying livestock feed and human feed, opening a checking account for our 15 year old and deposting the others Christmas money, taking all the decorations down, and squeezing a little time to crochet. That almost made me tired typing it all out. But, knowing it is done gives me energy to move forward.

Onto a more interesting and kind of sad story with a happy ending! Christmas eve night brought a surprise of a baby lamb. This poor little guy was born to a young mommma who just didn't know how to get him moving. By the time I found him is was near death. Cold, unable to sit ot stand, and bearly breathing. I scene not at all what a shepardress wants to find. So after thirty minutes working with him in the barn and not getting the results I was needing into the house we went. What start as an uphill battle seemed to make a turn for the better after three hours of constant care. He was more alert, warm, and nursing. So every hour on the hour I was up feeding him just one ounce at a time. Soon morning came and he seemed to be stronger taking two full ounces strong around 8:00 a.m. Soon he feel asleep and rested for what seemed to be along time. My family opened gifts and got ready to go to my mothers house all the while checking on this little guy. Long about nine oclock when we were packing the house to go to grandma's we checked on him and he had died. You see he had never gotten strong enough to stand and although he tried with all he had he just couldn't do it. Something was just not right. This put me in a down mood for most of the day. I always beat myself over a lost lamb. Saturday was a very busy day here. I made my barn rounds early about 7:30 a.m. only to find a mother with a baby lamb running through the barnyard. She was what I call a fat bottom girl who I would have thought would have had twins or triplets. Well, I sure was wrong, she had tis little tiny baby girl. After the loss of the lamb before I would take whatever as long as it was alive and doing well. So, I put her and the baby in a pen to get to know each other, checked the rest of the girls to see if anyone was in trouble, feed all the rest of the sheep and the dog and back in the house to thaw out. Around noon, my niece comes in the house and says there is a baby running through the cattle field. So I throw on my barn clothes and boots and run out the door. I find my husband with the mule tied to the backhoe and my niece holding a lamb. My thought was that the mother who had just had the baby had gotton lose, I was wrong cause the little lamb my niece was holdong was not the one I had seen this moring. So to the barn I went in a hurry, as I started into the gate here came the donkey. This was a circus, with all the actors in all the wrong places. Hubbie grabed the donkey and started walking him toward the gate only there was no gate between the fields. I jumped the fence and headed to the barn only to see the worst part of the whole ordeal, this little lambs momma was dead. She had prolapsed. Hubbie got the gate back up and th donkey out of the way and back to help me. Now I have 3 spectators holding a very hungry and active baby lamb watching the two of us examine this momma. So I milked all the milk out of her that I could and sent the human kids in the house to give the lamb a bottle. Wade and I proceeded to check her out. Not knowing if there was another baby traped we decided to cut her open and see. Now, one of the kids had slipped out of the house and was watching us from the gate, we were not aware of this, until he said " What are you going to do with her?" We had just cut her open and blood was gushing everywhere, she had himridged and her utrus ruptured. Man, it seems like when it rains it pours, the loss of a lamb eariler and now a mother, and the joys of a bottle baby! Well, there were no more babies and we had to load this poor dead ewe into the backhoe bucket to be buried. Wade to care of all of that. I continued to go and milk the mother who had lost her lamb so that I could feed this little motherless lamb. Once I got about a cup and a half I sent it in with the little observer, Timothy, who just turned 7 on December 23, 2009. The girls were busy playing and fighting over her in the house. Oh how much fun they were having. So a thought came over Wade's mind when he decided I should see if this lambless mother would take her. Now remember, this is almost a lose lose situation, mothers know there lambs and often refuse and shove other babies out of their way. I was totally agaist it! No, No, No! I do not want another dead lamb. But, after his gentle coaxing, and a big shove, I decided to stay out there and give it a try. So the girls brought me this sweet little girl and I set her in the pen with the ewe who had lost her lamb. This ewe, much to my surprise, did not take a second look, nudged te little girl back with her noe to her udder, and began licking her all over, while that baby nursed like there was no tomorrow! There is a God in heaven and if you choose to deny that then you have never witnessed a maricle like this! Thank you Jesus! All of this long story, and if you are still reading this, Thank You! ~ One week ago Today!Simply Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708134282544939100noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1386144491513387061.post-21606693832816138622009-12-24T07:21:00.000-05:002009-12-24T07:21:54.241-05:00Christmas Eve BlissTwas the morning before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creator was stirring, except for me and Chachi. The animals were nesseled all snug in the barn, with visons of sugar cubes and a carrot in their heads. And I in my jammies and Chachi in his elf suit, had just put the turkey in the oven for a long winters nap....... Ok, enough with the parity.... I am up and baking a turkey for lunch today with my husbands family. We will be having dinner with his mothers side of the family and then to his mom's to open gifts. Tomorrow we will have Christmas with my family during the day and the Haney's that evening.

As I think back to Christmas's past I remember many fond memories of my childhood. One that really stands out in my mind is spending time with both of my grandmothers. Baking cookies and candies. Every one packing into a little bitty house that was as so hot you would smother to death. The sounds of family reuniting and laughing about days gone by. The food was always so good and the chance to run and play with cousins that we only saw a few times a year. My MamMaw, the mother of my dad, always hung stockings for each of the grandchildren. She would be so excited for us to arrive to see what Santa had left us. Some years she would call and say something like,"hurry and get to mammaws, and see what Santa left for you in your sock!" We always got and orange, some nuts, a big pepermint barber's pole, and some little toys, maybe a piece of chocolate. Her house was so energizing and fun. I really miss those days! Although she is still with us her mind has failed her and she has grown old. It makes Christmas very hard for me as I really wanted my family to have memories of her like I do. She always made each of us feel like we were the favorite. She loved us unconditionally and deeply and never did for one if she couldn't do for the other. Now, most of the family has nothing to do with her and several just want to put her in a home. This is so sad that they would forget the women who brought so much life to all of us and neglet her the way they do. She is just a jewel who the Lord has placed here for a reason. And, most of all she is my MamMaw.
As you can see construction on the barn is slow but steady! This has been consuming most of our spare time as we are making sure that all of the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed! I do have to say the builders are very nice and have not made to big of a mud hole in my yard. The tin is on the roof now and I will need to take a picture of that to show you all.
Lol.. We have been working hard all week on making no sew blanks. The calss as a whole has completed 12 blankets! Therefore they decided today that the room was a sweat shop both because of the heat and as a pun. Here are some photos of the blankets and the kids working.
Timothy decided we would put the tree up and he would make christmas ornaments. So we put the tree up and he helped me decorate it with all the handmade ornament he can find and then the very expensive ones that I almost lost it when he got them out. But, I managed to hold it together and let him put them on the tree! Next came the gingerbread men. We had glue everywhere! And last but not least the gumdrop tree. Which was the highlight of the evening. Timothy loved tasting all the flavors of gumdrops and dared anyone to pull them of f the tree. Emily was doing chemistry and did not help with the fun. These girls are just big pets. We bought them three years ago as heifers and raised them to this point. They will have babies in April or sometime there about. Sadie and Selma, are just great girls. I had ran home from work yesterday in a hurry to take my mother chirstmas shoping when, as I pulled up the drive way what did I see? My momma sheep and her little man running through the barnyard in all that rain and muck. Momma had decided she did not want to be in a lambing pen anymore and she is so smart that she let herself out. So off I ran into the house, threw on my coveralls and coat, then the muck boots and off I went through the mud and the muck to put that momma and babyback in the dry. Well, that was easier said than done. 10 mins. later I had momma and baby up and the sheep eating grain. I took som grain to the cows and was able to get this picture. As I finished snapping the photo of the barn my mother drove up. So, off to the house and shed all the outerwear, changed shoes and headed back out the door to take her to the co-op and Walmart. The rain had stop for the most part and thinking we were home free off we went. Shopping at the co-op is one of my favorite things to do regaurdless of the season. I just love to see whats new! Buying for three small boys is a lot of fun and we left the co-op with most of christmas covered. Then to Walmart, where we were going to buy some fabric to make my 82 year old grandmother a no sew fleece blanket as part of her christmas. She is just a jewel and in good health except for the demintia. Like most older folk she is always cold and eventhough the snuggie would be easier she would be tanggled up in that and on the floor in no time flat. So a blanket it is. What started out as one turned quickly into five. Some how my mother had a way of multipling things in a hurry. Now all three little guys are getting one, mammaw, and mother are all getting no sew blankets. I know what you thinking, "when will I ever have time to ge these things done", cause thats what I was thinking! Until, about three o'clock this morning when it hit me. "You teach high school art you big dummy!" So, as part of my fibers projects that my second year students have to do, we will learn the technique of no-sew blankets! I will show them how, they can help me make the family ones, and I will help thouse who wish tomake their own. This is a win win situation as they say! I am going to include pictures of each blanket and some of my students work as well. So I make it home from shopping only to find these two baking cookies. It is so nice when they get along. Emily is 15 and Timothy will be seven on the 23 of this month. He loves to cook as much as she does! I am vey thankful for the blessings in my life!

Today is just one gloomy day here in Oliver Springs TN. It has rained so much that I can hardly see straight. The workers were only able to get the footers poured for our barn yesterday and with all this rain I am sure that they have not been to work today. I am not complaining aas though it may seem, it is just so dang cold and wet. I would much rather it be cold and snowing instead. The Lord does know is best for us all and even though I think that a nice warm breeze and 85 degrees would be nice, he has chosen this. I did fid anew blog to read today and as soon as I figure out how tolist it as one that I follow I will do so. For now I will provide the link: http://georgiafarmwoman.blogspot.com/. They are giving away a nesting box this week and I can not wait to see who is going to win. I just got 25 baby chicks and in just a matter of months I am going to need one. Anyway, check out her blog it is very interesting and I really enjoy reading about whats going on in her little neck of the woods. I have included a picture of the view from my back door, the one out of the back of my classroom. Yeah, it may not seem like much to you, but, I enjoy looking out of it as the seasons pass. It is my escape when life with monkeys, the children, get's so much! Lol!!! Life really is good when I think about it! I have so many friends who love to share their time with me, I teach children - how much more rewarding can you get?! I have a wonderful church and church family and a great personal family!
I have been working on this baby blanket for my cousin's baby. He and his wife are missionaries to South Africa. My prayer is to finish it by Christmas and mail it tothem. I only hope that customs doesn't take it. They are so far away from home and without any family to celebrate the birth of their first child. I hope that this makes it! So, for those of you who pray, Pray hard for this to make it.Simply Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708134282544939100noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1386144491513387061.post-54315501570764808572009-12-07T12:29:00.002-05:002009-12-24T06:53:31.124-05:00Psalm 5:3 (King James Version) My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

I have food on my table, a wonderful husband, clothes on my families back, and time to tend to the little piece of ground God gave me. Last week brought a blessing to our barn yard. I came home from work to find the prettiest little spotted lamb you have ever seen. He and his momma are doing just fine and he is as pretty as a picture. Cute, Cute, Cute! Need I say more? He shall remain nameless until next wednesday when he will be named. This is the practice I have used since I started raising sheep. If they can make it until they are two weeks old then they earn a name. Usually by then we are out of the woods when it comes to freaky things. This year all blackface sheep will get a name that starts with the letter "N". I started this the first year we had lambs and now we are on the letter n, thus providing some very interesting names I am sure. The construction on the barn began today. I will post pictures this afternoon once I get home from work. We have also been blessed with a new stray, yes, Emily finally got a lap dog. He is a Chihuahua who has won her heart, which let me say doesn't take much, but he has such a nice personality and he sleeps with her every night. So far, so good. We also have 25 buff orpington chicks which arrived friday and this will allow us to have all the fresh eggs we will need plus extra to sell when spring gets here. I am hoping that my father-in-law will build me a nice little chicken house for these girls in the very near future.
